Application Support Analyst/SRE – Dynatrace/Splunk
Typical Day in Role:
• The incumbent is responsible for the transitioning of microservice monitoring, alerting and processes relating to a project supporting digital channel operations.
• Part of a team of that will be responsible for incident/problem management of Online banking; Mobile Banking and related production change activities.
• Assist in the development of processes designed to report, analyze and resolve problems with the objective of mitigating the associated operational, reputational, financial, and regulatory risks.
• The incumbent will perform a liaison role and ongoing interaction between various units including, but not limited to: Canadian Banking; Technology partners; Customer facing staff: QA departments, Vendors, Product groups, Business lines
• This position will be focused on leadership, building knowledge base, managing various vendor relationships and the customer impact with the project.
• Working with incumbent FTE on project to migrate alerting, monitoring, dashboards and processes to the platforms (from Azure PCF to GKE)
• Day to day: daily project meetings go over performance capacity management team; working under an FTE but at times working independently
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years as an Application Support Analyst and/or System Reliability Engineer (SRE)
2) 2+ years of experience in performance and capacity management tools – Dynatrace and Splunk (both are required) – with demonstrated skills in building monitoring, alerting, dashboards and processes
3) 2+ years working with cloud computing technologies (preference for Azure, GKE)
4) 2+ years working with SQL – as-hoc queries and reporting
5) 2+ years’ experience defining SLOs, SLIs and SLAs
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Experience within Financial Institutions (banking, insurance)
2) Experience with incident and problem management
3) 2+ years of DevOps experience
4) Experience with New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana
5) Working knowledge of Service Now, JIRA and Confluence or other enterprise support platforms
6) Experience working in an Agile framework
Soft Skills Required:
• Curious and experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty
• Effective communication and diplomacy skills are required to liaise between groups of varying technical expertise and interests.
Education:
• Post-secondary degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering etc.)
