Typical Day in Role:
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and robust cloud infrastructure solutions using GCP to support application development and deployment needs.
• Migrate existing on-premises applications and services to GCP, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Monitor cloud environments, analyze performance metrics, and implement enhancements to meet scalability and cost-efficiency goals.
• Automate cloud operations and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Ensure compliance with security and data protection regulations by implementing and managing cloud security tools and best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to architect cloud-native solutions that are optimized for GCP.
• Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related issues to IT and development teams.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and GCP features to continuously improve cloud infrastructure and operations.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
• 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven track record (completed projects)of designing, deploying, and managing applications on GCP, including experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery.
• 5+ experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and IAM best practices.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Previous experience working in an Agile environment is an asset
