Typical Day in Role:
Work with settlement teams to map source system to ledger flows for trade bookings and failed trades
-Work with technology and settlement teams to develop reports to reconcile fails with expected settlements.
-Root cause analysis into differences and exceptions
-Responsible for monitoring, analyzing and tracking drivers of cash flows and securities available for collateral in alignment to the intraday liquidity strategy and regulatory & management liquidity metrics.
-Investigate and analyze differences between forecasts and actuals.
-Implement the evolving local enhancement cash and intraday liquidity management processes for entities and businesses in scope.
-Recommend and make judgement decisions to allocate funds between nostro accounts based on costs, liquidity ratios, and intraday liquidity strategy.
-Responsible for deriving user requirements to drive efficiency and automation with technology teams.
-Represent Cash/Intraday Liquidity Management Team on new projects and change management through effective interaction with board range of stakeholders.
-Work with head office on new initiatives.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
5-8 years of experience in Cash Management roles
5-8 years of experience performing current state analysis on BNS’ broker dealer cash management function5-8 years of experience in gap analysis in current processes and make recommendations for future state
3-4 years of experience identifying business lines sources and uses cash within the entity
3-4 years of experience in financial accounting and cash flows for financial products
Nice-To-Have Skills:
-Must have strong understanding of nostros, payment flows, accounting for cash transactions
– Work with finance and system teams to identify system enhancements needed
-Review FTP practices within the entity
Strong excel skills and familiarity with Power BI

• Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences.

Education:
-Degree in Mathematics, Finance & Business or Accounting.
-MBA/CPA/CFA/FRM are considered assets but not required.
