The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a large highly visible project within one of Canada’s top banks on a multinational project.
Typical Day in the Role:
• Represent the Operations Control team in one or more project workstreams supporting the enhancements to regulatory trade reporting:
– Lead data mapping requirements for one or more of the project workstreams
– Lead the end-to-end testing for one or more of the project workstreams
• Build business requirements for all the required changes and work closely with our technology stakeholders to translate broad regulatory rules into specific requirements and solutions to be built by technology
– Facilitate idea generation and problem definition (e.g. develops stories, scenarios, manages ongoing projects, etc.)
• Manage the end-to-end business requirements for the implementation of trade reporting and related controls.
• Investigate external vendor & regulatory technical specifications -Unavista Technical Spec, CBI, FCA and other applicable Technical Specs to create data mappings and transformation rules.
• Lead and coordinate User Acceptance testing with Technology and GWO team
• Provide professional guidance to other team members by being the single point for test case execution, requirements gathering, data mapping and other deliverables assigned
• Develop in-depth knowledge of internal rules engine, KX, and overview knowledge of BNS Trade Reporting IT Stack
• Work closely with Compliance, RBI, GWO – Operations Control, Internal control and various Technology teams to create solutions in alignment with the overall business strategy and that enable Scotiabank to achieve regulatory compliance.
• Collaboratively work with the development team to explain functional requirements & data mappings to ensure technical solution meets business requirements.
• Support SIT test execution
• Create and execute UAT test cases
• Demonstrates judgement by assessing the operational and regulatory risks and implication while defining solution, requirements, or decisions on behalf of GWO Operations Control team.
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to work with different stakeholders with different level of systems knowledge
• Perform data analysis and validation, document field mappings and transformation rules for KX, UnaVista, CBI, FCA integrations.
• Assist Director with the creation of the project plan, project updates and reporting materials.
• Contribute to the UAT test strategy and test plan definition.
• Maintain traceability matrix for test cases, mapping business requirements to test cases.
Must Have Skills/Requirements:
1) 10+ years of Experience as a BA
2) 5+ years working with Regulation (i.e. Trade and Transaction Reporting)
3) Experience with writing business requirements, technical spec and completing UAT
4) Knowledge about Trade Lifecycle (exp. what triggers trade reporting)
Nice to have Skills:
1) Knowledge of financial products/instruments.
2) Prior Financial Institutional Experience
3) Prior knowledge of Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR)
Soft Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ideas must be able to be understood and shared easily.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Best Vs Average Candidate: The ideal candidate would have strong hands on BA experience working in Regulation/Trade reporting. Strong communication (written and verbal) will be a determining factor when selecting the successful candidate.
Education : -Bachelors/ degree related field
Interview Process:
1st – Panel Video Interview with 2 senior team members
2nd round with Manager and potentially director.
The 1st interview will be more technical questions focusing on candidate past skill set and their regulatory knowledge. 2nd round will be based on prior experience and soft skills
