Story Behind the Need
• Business group: Successful candidate will be supporting Derivatives and Collateral and will be working closely with the Derivates Operations team.
• Project: Implementing Blackrock’s Aladdin System
Job Summary:
The Business Analyst will play a key role in researching and analyzing major derivatives and collateral initiatives, aimed at identifying, documenting, and implementing complex processing, service, and technical improvements. This role involves supporting business initiatives that may include the implementation of new technologies and products. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across various groups within the organization to ensure that projects are executed effectively and align with strategic business goals.
Typical Day in Role
• Collect, document, and manage business requirements throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop and execute test strategies, plans, test cases and expected results in consultation with key stakeholders to ensure that initiatives being implemented meet expected deliverables; maintain superior project documentation
• Work independently or with management to identify complex operational business issues and develop creative solutions involving workflow procedures and/or new technologies
• Establish relationships with business leaders in order to determine optimal solutions for complex business needs. Use your industry knowledge and expertise, as well as external service providers to support new processes or requests by clients
• Ensure that all processes and systems work within any mandated regulatory and compliance requirements for the industry
• Maintain focus as priorities change, keeping business needs and importance in perspective as it relates to overall strategic goals and communicating these changes in an understandable, justified and acceptable means
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 5-7 years of Business Analysis experience within an Application Management environment within the financial services industry.
2) In-depth investment business knowledge, particularly in derivatives trading and operations, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in Derivatives/Investment IT Application Management.
3) Strong understanding of system design, analysis, user acceptance testing, and product improvement methodologies.
4) Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business cases, motivate team members, and negotiate with cross-functional representatives.
5) Excellent presentation and communication skills.
6) Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global setting.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Proficiency with systems such as Aladdin**, Findur, Apex is highly desirable.
• Experience in system integrations and implementations is advantageous.
Education:
• University degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science;
• MBA, CFA, FRM or similar certification is a plus
