Story Behind the Need:
Infrastructure Operations Environment Support Team is responsible for support and project deployments, both on premise Data Centres and the Cloud, to support the Critical Payment Related Applications. We are responsible for supporting and deploying new technologies, following best practices, and consulting and coordinating with the Bank’s many technology teams with the aim of providing a highly resilient Environment as the underlying core of the Bank’s technology infrastructure. The team is seeking a Technical Analyst to assist with the production support and adhoc project work.

Typical Day in Role:
• Working on project end-to-end to define procedure/processes and push changes through delivery.
• Providing application support tasks (OS Level and Application Level).
• Addressing vulnerability issues and working with L2 support for OS issues.
• Reporting to the Manager.
• Work with multiple business lines scaling from payments, back office teams and supporting end of day jobs.
Candidate Requirements/Must-Have skills:
1. 5-7+ years of working experience as a Technical Analyst.
2. 3+ years of progressive & current hands-on technical working experience with the systems administration of Oracle Solaris (Sun Solaris).
3. 3+ years of progressive & current hands-on technical working experience with the systems administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
4. You can demonstrate hands-on technical working experience in supporting application / web servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat®, Red Hat® JBoss®).
5. You can demonstrate a technical working knowledge of critical business application support from a systems perspective.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Working experience in IBM MQ is an asset.
• Previous exposure to the banking industry/financial services is an asset.
• Working experience as an Oracle WebLogic administrator.
• Working experience in the use of korn shell (k-shell) scripting to perform automation tasks.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization.
• Strong decision making, forward thinking and creative problem-solving skills to anticipate and respond quickly to technological/market influences.
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
Education:
• Post-secondary degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related IT field is an asset.
