Reason: Require a product manager to lead the delivery of FY25 outcomes.
Typical Day in Role:
Reporting into Snr Product Manager – Open Banking, this role will work closely with UX and CX designers, multiple engineering teams, and other Product Owners to operationalize their role in the Open Banking roadmap. This individual will:
– Define product releases and iteration backlog based on overall vision and input from business SMEs, customer experience and the agile team
– Understand and articulate the product vision, including its objectives, value proposition, and key risks associated with opportunities/ideas
– Develop product roadmap and high-level backlog, further decomposed into releases which deliver significant value to the end user
– Prioritize (and continuously reprioritize) delivery based on the calculated benefits/value of identified features/epics
– Has a strong customer focus, creates a clear understanding of customer needs and desired outcomes and socializes them for alignment. Utilizes data, analytics and customer feedback to make decisions.
– Be the voice of product and customer in planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, iteration reviews and other team meetings in order to verify that the output of the team is consistently delivering business value and aligned with the agreed upon commitments
– Advocate for the highest attainable levels of quality and for approaches that will minimize the impact of technical debt on the product and organization.
– Review the output of the agile team at the end of every iteration, and before the product is released into the market, to ensure that it meets expectations
– Ensure full awareness of market and trends in the business environment through effective communication with stakeholders; using research and available analysis to help inform ideas
– Communicate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the development team (Stakeholders, Executives), acting as a champion of the agile methodology
– Partner with stakeholders to put a long-term vision together for Open Banking capabilities, with a clear view of the broader financial landscape and a grasp of different financial business models and their requirements.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 8+ years of total relevant working experience, with 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner Role working closely with engineering and design teams
2) 5+ years of experience working within an Agile environment demonstrating expert organizational acumen
3) 5+ years’ hands-on experience with technical architecture, specifically with API’s and microservices
4) 3-5 years of experience working with Digital journeys (Front and Backend) and delivering technology projects
5) 3+ years’ experience JIRA and Confluence to write BRDs and product briefs
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Banking / Financial Services / Experience from a similar highly matrixed large organization
3) Experience working on initiatives that are very customer-focused
4) Engineering background

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Master’s or equivalent strongly preferred
• Scrum Product Owner certification preferred
Best VS. Average Candidate:
Ideal candidate has a very hands-on detail oriented approach, who can be strongly embedded with the team and ensures that things are moving forward; able to deal with ambiguous environments, is a self-starter, requires minimal hand holding; expert with writing user stories and product documentation; experience in moving complex initiatives in a large organization with many stakeholders will set them apart – a lot of time on the job is spent in navigating the organization, so someone who can pick that up quickly will be more succesful ; if they have a technical bench and are good at understanding technical concepts (whether through education or experience) will be great to hit the ground running; strong communication and soft skills are key; Has a strong customer focus, creates a clear understanding of customer needs and desired outcomes and socializes them for alignment. Utilizes data, analytics and customer feedback to make decisions.
